My 30 before 30 bucket list

Well, the story begins on one of many very long days in a Russian all terrain vehicle during my two week trip to Mongolia in August 2011. The discussion amongst the 'babes' in the 'babe bus' was about turning 30 and what (if any) significance it had to each of us. I hadn't particularly thought much about it, but then realised it would be pretty cool to put together a 'bucket list' of 30 things to do before my 30th birthday on 28 October 2013. The idea was to put together a list by my 28th birthday which would then give me exactly 2 years to complete what's on the list. Although the list was started in Mongolia, I procrastinated too much and have only just got round to finalising it.

In order to make the list as fun and great as possible I set myself three rules about what wen on the list:
1. It had to be a list of 30 things that are realistic to complete, do not involve me having to risk my life over and over and that I genuinely want to do
2. It could not include anything I already had planned, nor anything I'd already done (so basically no option to tick lots off without having to put in any effort)
3. It could not include anything that rely on being linked to other people (so no 'I want to be married' or 'I want to have a baby')

The list is as follows (the order of the items is irrelevant, I can do whichever I want, when I want):

1. Apply to be on a TV show
2. Sky dive
3. Balloon ride
4. Helicopter ride
5. Have champage in the Oxo Tower
6. Stand on a west end stage
7. Visit wales
8. Run a half marathon
9. Do three peaks challenge
10. Visit parliament
11. Start a blog
12. Buy shares
13. Learn to say the alphabet backwards fast
14. Go and see something at the royal opera house
15. Go to a wine tasting to learn more about wine
16. Learn a magic trick
17. Learn how to make macaroons
18. Attend a fancy dress party
19. Go horseriding on a beach
20. Visit the grand canyon
21. Stay in a really posh hotel
22. Gamble 100 frivously
23. Go up the eiffel tower at and age where I can remember it
24. Be an extra in a film
25. See three films at the cinema in 1 day
26. Have a photo taken with a major celebrity
27. Wear odd shoes in public (on purpose)
28. Memorise every country name and capital city
29. Have the balls to return food in a restaurant
30. Join a flash mob

Given that item 11 on the list is to start a blog, I figured what better to do than to blog about the experiences in completing items on the list. So by putting this post up, I have both finalised my list as well as ticking off one item.

If anybody would like to help me out with any of these or would like to join me on my adventures, please get in touch - the more the merrier! The main aim of this list is to have fun and to embrace the next two years leading up to my 30th birthday.
